Pink Lingo!

What is the color pink?

Well, this could lead to a heated discussion because to begin with,  according to a blog post by Time, pink is a made up color!
They state, “Pink is actually a combination of red and violet, two colors, which, if you look at a rainbow, are on the opposite sides of the arc.“
You can read more about this at
Pink association and culture.

Different cultures associate pink in very distinctive ways.
Here are some examples:
In the Japanese culture it is often associated with children.  When referring to adults it can be used when designating erotic as well as healthy.
Western and American cultures associate it with both children and femininity.

From Bourn Creative:  “Pink, a delicate color that means sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tenderness, is associated with bubble gum, flowers, babies, little girls, cotton candy, and sweetness. The color pink is the color of universal love of oneself and of others.”

“According to surveys in Europe and the United States, pink is the color most often associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood, femininity and the romantic. It is associated with chastity and innocence when combined with white, but associated with eroticism and seduction when combined with purple or black.” Wikipedia

Is pink a women’s fashion exclusive?

As a colorful and vibrant brand, we believe that there is no color that is off limits!
According to Fashion Bean “Its absence from most men’s outfits means it stands out in yours and, so long as you pick hues that suit your skin tone and that sit pretty with the rest of your outfit, it’s a statement that flatters”.

A Canadian anti-bullying event held annually during the second week of April. The initiative inspired youth at Jer's Vision who founded The International Day of Pink, an effort to support their peers internationally with resources and ways to make their schools safer.
